For this pie I used sheep cheese, fresh mushrooms, potatoes, canned tomatoes and Chinese cabbage. My pie with cheese and vegetables was born as follows: I dissolved yeast in water - two cups of water to be exact - then I added salt and black flour along with rye and wheat bran. When the dough was hard enough, I divided it into two equal parts, greased my hands with oil and spread with my palms a piece of dough in the tray in which I was going to bake the pie. I used a large tray that I also greased with sesame oil.

After placing the first sheet of pie, I opened a box of diced tomatoes and spread half of the box on the first sheet. I tried to distribute both the sauce and the tomato cubes evenly.

After distributing the slices of cheese, I placed the second sheet of pie - from the second half of the dough that I shaped by hand and also spread it in the tray over the vegetables placed on the first sheet. On top I poured the remaining tomato sauce in the box and on top, I thought it would work well, I sprinkled a handful of sesame seeds. The idea was not bad because due to the sesame seeds our pie got a special flavor.

Dough ingredients:

Grate the mozzarella on a large grater, mash the feta cheese and place them in a bowl with the ricotta and eggs. Homogenize the composition and set it aside.

Divide the leavened dough into 8 equal pieces or if you want them smaller than you want, the idea is to be equal. Roll out the dough into rectangular pieces and divide the cheese evenly on the dough, spread it lightly and gather the side edges inwards, twist the ends and place them in trays lined with baking paper.

  • 600 gr. slow cooked honey steak
  • 450 gr. mexican mixture of frozen vegetables
  • 1 leek thread
  • 1 onion
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon Worchestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • ½ teaspoon thyme
  • ½ teaspoon oregano
  • 250-300 ml. water or vegetable soup
  • salt and pepper to taste

Mashed potatoes:

  • 1 kg. potatoes
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 100 gr. butter
  • 3-4 tablespoons milk (optional)
  • 50 gr. parmesan race

Preparation method:

1 First, peel the potatoes and boil them in a bowl with cold water. After boiling, add a little salt and cook for about 20-30 minutes, depending on the size of the prepared cubes. Considering that this time we use lamb from tender steak prepared slowly the day before, the preparation of the mashed potato topping takes the longest. Chop the meat strips into the right pieces and set aside.

2 Almost anything can be used for the vegetable combination, except that carrots and peas are not missing. Another plus I think comes from the corn kernels, so I recommend this Mexican mixture of frozen vegetables. It has carrots, peas, green beans, corn and bell peppers. Only good for the shepherd's pie.

3 Put 2-3 tablespoons of oil in a pan and lightly sauté the leeks and onions, chopped appropriately. Cook for 2-3 minutes then add 2 tablespoons of flour and mix well.

4 Add 250-300 ml. of water or vegetable soup. Add the mixture of frozen vegetables and sprinkle half a teaspoon of thyme and dried oregano. Season with salt and pepper, then turn down the heat and cook until the vegetables are soft. In 10-15 minutes the sauce will reduce and the vegetable filling will be ready.

5 Preheat the oven to 180 ° C / 200 ° C on gas and prepare almost a heat-resistant tray. Drain the water from the potatoes, add the butter and prepare the puree. If you feel that it is too strong and will not be easy to distribute with a pos, you can also put a few extra tablespoons of milk, but it can be decorated just as nicely with a fork. Add the grated Parmesan cheese and adjust the taste of salt and pepper. Pour the filling into the pan and place the wonderful mashed potatoes on top.
